Sugar / Sweetened water : To be added or no when blending?

It is depends , but for me, better not to put.

My justifications :

1   ) Somewhat it might be ruined / spoiled the original taste.

2   ) Afraid of imperfect sugar blending residue

3   ) A good ice blended powder / smoothies concentrations has been produced with adequate portions of          sugar

4   ) Too sweet might lead to less satisfy of tasting

Electric Power ???

It is best when you can operate your blender with the normal wired / socket electricity's source. In some cases, you may need to have extensional wires if your blender is located slightly distance from the electricity source.

Generator Set (Gen set) may have been required when you are operating at night market, along side streets or any area which is far form normal electricity source. I would like to share some information on searching / buying the gen set, it is better you quote for "heavy duty"  ones and of course; it is not so cheap in price.

Oh ya, if you are operating during night time, it is advisable that you spare some "energy saving" light bulbs for hospitality and conveniences. In case that you have to use  pendarflour lamp (lampu kalimantang); do use the shorter in length.

Arrangement - Sample only

I would like to share  simple arrangement for a mobile ice blended stall....

Look at this photo ;

It looks simple, neat, not too messy...:)

  • A small size tent (normally 10' X 10')
  • A foldable table set
  • Blenders of course
  • A segregation between powder and concentrates section
  • A water container / dispenser
  • A reachable ice box
  • A tower for sweeping
  • A pail of water for washing
  • A chair

Preparations

Consider these for preparations ;

  1. Tools and Equipments
  2. Materials
  3. Safety measurements

1. Tools and Equipments
  • A blender
  • A cup (preferably with dome lid)
  • A straw
  • ice box / ice container
  • filtered / purified water (definitely not a boiled water or water pipe)
  • ice scoop
  • ice breaker /crusher
2.   Materials
  • Ice Blended powder and / or concentrates for smoothies
  • powder scoops / water spoons
  • chocolate rices (optional)
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • strawberry / chocolates / caramel syrups (optional)

Ice - best form for ice blended?

Ice should be in the "half crushed" form----> you can imagine it as a baby ice cube that has been deformed into parts; not too big and not also fully crushed.

if it is too big ----> it will make the blender's cutter "work harder" ;

if it is fully crushed ---> how can you blend something that can't be blended??? U still can blend it...but it will be "juice" you get, not an ice blended....

In Malaysia, you can simply quote "Ais hancur" and the ice supplier will note it.

Blender???

Best blender for ice blended should acquires;

  • Easy to remove top cover
  • Longer and slim stick for stirring
  • wide but sharp in upper end  for drainage
  • microcutter - small cutter ,sharper
  • clip type for lower end ---> tight /grip
  • quality rubber stopper
  • strong and sturdy container holder
  • easy to operate / understandable machine buttons

p/s : A blender is not a ice crusher, juicer, or mixer. :)

Ice Blended in Malaysia....

I can say it is not really a popular nor a new kind of beverages/drinks in Malaysia.

It is often being misquote; or miss spell such as

  •  "ais blender" ,
  •  "ice blanded" ,
  •  "air blender" ,
  •  "ais blanded" ,
  •  "ice blender" ,
  • and / or any miss spell of  "ice" and "blended"
They are four most popular basic  ice blended powder in Malaysia, in my humble opinion; as follows
  • Chocolate
  • Vanilla
  • Mocha
  • Cappuccino

What is an ice blended???....

Basicly it is an ice; blended in a blender, with a mix of flavoured powder or solutions,and  in some case paste.

It is a different kind of ice manufactured beverages/ drinks compared to Ais Kacang, Air Batu Campur , Cendol , Ais Kepal and not forgetting the Lai Chi Kang.
